The Charlotte Lady Eagles are hosting the 2011 United Soccer Leagues W-League Eastern Conference Championship at Charlotte Christian High School. The games will be played in a final four format with the semi-finals on Thursday July 21 at 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The final will be played the following day Friday July 22 at 5:15 p.m. Directly following the final the Charlotte Eagles Men’s team will be playing the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Pro league at 7:45 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $8, adult and $5, for youth (children 5 and under are free). In 7 tenths of a mile, turn left into Zimmer Business Park and follow road straight into the Park until you come to building 7 on your left. The facility is located at the end of building 7 in warehouse #737. Donations can be dropped off at the store or call (803) 371-0897 for pick-up. All donations are tax-deductible. Purchases help PAWS reach its goal of building a true “no-kill” shelter in Indian Land.

APEX Performance announced that new trainer Amy Bair will be working with the Wounded Warrior Project in San Antonio. Before joining Apex, Amy was the Head of Performance Psychology and High Performance Communications at the University of California at Berkley. Amy is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and has her Masters in Counseling and Psychological Services.

In 7 tenths of a mile, turn left into Zimmer Business Park and follow road straight into the Park until you come to building 7 on your left. The facility is located at the end of building 7 in warehouse #737. Donations can be dropped off at the store or call (803) 371-0897 for pick-up. All donations are tax-deductible. Purchases help PAWS reach its goal of building a true “no-kill” shelter in Indian Land.

Activities include a dance with music by SoundBiz DJ Service, basketball, a Dodgeball tournament, video games and hang-out time with friends in the Rachel Giblin Teen Center. New Stores at Ballantyne Village.Ballantyne Village announced three new tenants. Mellow Mushroom, Terrace Café, Cellular Sales (a Verizon Wireless dealer), and eBuilder (a software management company). Massage Envy is expanding its existing Ballantyne Village location.Traffic getting worse in the Ballantyne area? It is, according to this article.The Lower Providence Community House continues their lecture series on Sunday, June 12 at 3 p.m. Art and history lovers will enjoy the presentation of Dan Dance, a local historical artist, as he brings military history to life through art. “Revolutionary War at Clem’s Branch” will be the topic. Historical fine art, books, and calendars will be available. Tickets are $10 and available at the door. 9735 Community House Rd. Call (704) 905-8334 for additional information.

Lenox Salons will host their first “Cuts for Kids” event on June 13 from 11:00 a.m.  through 6:00 p.m. at 12335 North Community House Road. Participating salon owners will donate all or a portion of their proceeds to help in the operating costs of the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. Lenox Salons is planning to open two to three new stores in Charlotte this year. The “Cuts for Kids” events will be held several times each year. The school was also named, for the second consecutive year, a State School of Character.  Indian Land Middle School is the only middle school in the state to hold this designation.

Dogs/Cats for Adoption News

The PAWS in The Panhandle Rescue & Adoption Group Thrift Store is open in the Zimmer Business Park on Marvin Road in Indian Land. Directions: Turn onto Marvin Road directly in front of Aldi on Highway 521. In 7 tenths of a mile, turn left into Zimmer Business Park and follow road straight into the Park until you come to building 7 on your left. The facility is located at the end of building 7 in warehouse #737. Donations can be dropped off at the store or call (803) 371-0897 for pick-up. All donations are tax-deductible. Purchases help PAWS reach its goal of building a true “no-kill” shelter in Indian Land.
