4th of July Pool Party at Morrison Family YMCA at Ballantyne. 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Concessions will be available for purchase during pool parties.

Type O negative blood supply drops to critically low levels. The Red Cross is asking eligible blood donors to make and keep appointments. The supply of type O negative blood at the American Red Cross has dropped to critically low levels. Eligible blood donors can call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org to find a blood drive and to make an appointment.

July 1. Fall Program Registration begins for YMCA Members. Programs registering include:  Sports, Dance, Art, Cooking, Kid’s Fitness, School-Age Clubs, Teen Programs and more. Non-member registration begins July 15.

July 1. Best Buy Teen Video Game Tournament. 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. On the first Friday of every month, visit the Rachel Giblin Teen Center for a Teen Video Game Tournament. $1 YMCA Members and $5 non-members.
Please note: There will not be a Ballantyne Weekly on July 6 due to publisher’s vacation.

Dogs/Cats for Adoption News

The PAWS in The Panhandle Rescue & Adoption Group Thrift Store is open in the Zimmer Business Park on Marvin Road in Indian Land. Directions: Turn onto Marvin Road directly in front of Aldi on Highway 521. In 7 tenths of a mile, turn left into Zimmer Business Park and follow road straight into the Park until you come to building 7 on your left. The facility is located at the end of building 7 in warehouse #737. Donations can be dropped off at the store or call (803) 371-0897 for pick-up. All donations are tax-deductible. Purchases help PAWS reach its goal of building a true “no-kill” shelter in Indian Land.
