Local Realtor Sees Slow Growth in Residential Real Estate Market…but there is growth. Broker/Owner Kathleen Rebhan reports that, according to the Weichert Realtors weekly “Activity Barometer,” the slow real estate recovery appears to be continuing. The report is a collection of customer data from nearly 500 real estate offices nationwide, including customer inquiries to the company’s Internet center, and the number of actual visitors to thousands of “enhanced” Open Houses held most every weekend by Weichert’s real estate agents across the country. As of February, customer inquiries to the Weichert Lead Network (WLN) were up 85% over 2010. Rebhan can be reached at Charlotte headquarters, telephone (704) 553-7777.

The Middle and Senior High youth of South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church will lead all three worship services Sunday, March 27 on Youth Sunday. Services take place at 8:30, 9:30, and 11 o’clock worship services. The youth will also host a bake sale and cake auction from 9 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. in the church’s commons area. All proceeds benefit the SMPC youth program. Approximately 80 youth, ages 11-18, are actively involved in SMPC’s program.

Huntington Learning Center Celebrates Mathematics Awareness Month. In April 2011, Huntington Learning Center in Charlotte will participate in Mathematics Awareness Month. “Math education is absolutely critical to our nation’s progress, but on a smaller scale, math is a practical necessity for everyone, including young students,” said Jackie Pace, of Huntington Learning Center of Charlotte. World War II Book discussed at South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church. Unbroken a World War II story of survival, resilience and redemption by author Laura Hillenbrand, will be discussed in a small group setting at South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. beginning March 29. The PAWS in The Panhandle Rescue & Adoption Group Thrift Store is open in the Zimmer Business Park on Marvin Road in Indian Land Directions: Turn onto Marvin Road directly in front of Aldi on Highway 521. In 7 tenths of a mile, turn left into Zimmer Business Park and follow road straight into the Park until you come to building 7 on your left. The facility is located at the end of building 7 in warehouse #737. Donations can be dropped off at the store or call (803) 371-0897 for pick-up. All donations are tax-deductible. Purchases help PAWS reach its goal of building a true “no-kill” shelter in Indian Land.
