Sunday, March 13 and Sunday, March 20, South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church welcomes Douglas W. Oldenburg, retired President of Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta and Moderator of the 210th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Dr. Oldenburg will present “Pulled Between Two Stories: Culture and Gospel” in the church’s chapel during the 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sunday School hour. Elizabeth Bumgardner has joined Ballantyne Home Staging

Mary Pat Nanney and Elizabeth Bumgardner joined Ballantyne Home Staging. “With the growth we’re experiencing, the timing is perfect to add Mary Pat & Elizabeth,” said Carol Schulenberg, Owner of Ballantyne Home Staging. Nanney has a B.S. in Interior Design and has worked as an interior designer, visual merchandiser and advertising photo stylist. Bumgardner earned her degree in Architecture from Clemson University and worked for a building design firm in New York City for more than three years. Ballantyne Home Staging is a licensed and insured company offering staging, redecorating and move-in assistance for residential and commercial properties in the greater Charlotte area. The 7th Annual Charlotte Jewish Film Festival is scheduled for March 3-13. There will be two films screened at Ballantyne Village Theater this year. “The Matchmaker” is on Mar 5 and “Eli and Ben” is on Mar 12. For more information, visit the website here.

Arthur Rutenberg Homes announced its official move into The Club at Longview. As a preferred builder at Longview, Arthur Rutenberg Homes, through its franchise homebuilding company Paragon Homes of Charlotte, will be building upscale homes in both the estate golf course section of Longview and in the adjacent Longview section across from the country club. The company just completed a 8,000 square foot renovation project at Longview.

The Ballantyne Rotary Club is sponsoring this year’s Teacher’s Cup at Ardrey Kell High School March 11, 2011.

Ardrey Kell kicked off their registration for the inaugural Dance Marathon to benefit the Levine Children’s Hospital. The marathon will take place on Thursday, March 17th from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Student participants will be seeking support for their dancing to benefit The Levine Children’s Hospital. Dogs/Cats for Adoption News

The PAWS in The Panhandle Rescue & Adoption Group Thrift Store is open in the Zimmer Business Park on Marvin Road in Indian Land Directions: Turn onto Marvin Road directly in front of Aldi on Highway 521. In 7 tenths of a mile, turn left into Zimmer Business Park and follow road straight into the Park until you come to building 7 on your left. The facility is located at the end of building 7 in warehouse #737. Donations can be dropped off at the store or call (803) 371-0897 for pick-up. All donations are tax-deductible. Purchases help PAWS reach its goal of building a true “no-kill” shelter in Indian Land.
